With 7 years of experience in the field, Gavin has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with transitioning to a low-carbon economy. Gavin has a strong background in policy analysis and development, with a particular focus on identifying and addressing barriers to decarbonization for disadvantaged communities. In addition, Gavin has extensive experience in project management, with a track record of successfully leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects on time and within budget. Gavin is committed to using his skills and expertise to drive progress towards a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

My Background

Education

Gavin is a trained and accredited urban and environmental planning practitioner, having received a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University and a Master of City Planning degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Specialization

Gavin specializes in equitable decarbonization project management, program design, and policy development. Through his work at the Chicago Housing Authority, the Illinois Environmental Council, and the Chicago Mayor's Office of Climate and Environmental Equity, Gavin has developed specific expertise in just transition planning for disenfranchised communities as well as equitable building decarbonization policy and project management.

Commitment to Climate Justice

Gavin focuses on the intersection of racial justice and climate action. His work is informed by the burden that systemic oppression has forced upon BIPOC and low-income communities. Through his racial equity training via Chicago United for Equity, Gavin utilizes and prioritizes a justice-first approach in his work.
